The predicted dose rates in crystals, in Gy/h, are shown in fig 2.7 in the ECAL TDR.
At 1034 cm-2s-1 (high luminosity) the dose rates as a
function of eta are :
| Eta |
Dose rate, Gy/h (rad/h) at shower max |
Dose rate, Gy/h (rad/h) behind crystal |
| 0.0 | 0.18 (18) | 0.02 (2) |
| 1.48 (End of EB) | 0.28 (28) | 0.03 (3) |
| 1.48 (Start of EE) | 0.29 (29) | 0.04 (4) |
| 2.6 | 6.5 (650) | 1.4 (140) |
| 3.0 | 15.0 (1500) | 3.0 (300) |
The total dose, for 5 x 105 pb-1 is shown in fig 1.4 in the ECAL TDR.
| Eta |
Total dose, kGy (MRad) at shower max |
Total dose, kGy (MRad) behind crystal |
| 0.0 | 2.5 (0.25) | 0.2 (0.02) |
| 1.48 (End of EB) | 4 (0.4) | 0.35 (0.035) |
| 1.48 (Start of EE) | 4 (0.4) | 0.5 (0.05) |
| 2.0 | 15 (1.5) | 3 (0.3) |
| 2.6 | 90 (9) | 20 (2) |

Dose rate at H4
Spill (burst) of 2.4 sec duration every 14.4 sec.
120 GeV e-, 20k events/ burst into 2x2 cm2 equivalent to
0.3 Gy/hr (30 Rad/h).
At eta = 2.6, at 1034, 6.5 Gy/h (650 Rad/h) equivalent to 433k
