Subject: First draft of instruction manual for HV hardware
distribution system.
Attachments: EE_HV_draft.doc
Dear
All,
Please find attached
the first draft of the document describing the HV hardware distribution
system and its operations. Following discussion with Martin, we reached the
conclusion that the documentation for the HV hardware system will be
composed of the following:
1. Document
describing the whole HV hardware system and its operation (draft attached).
2. Document describing the
HV distribution crates and their operation (draft circulated by
Martin earlier this year)
3. Document
describing the LV crates for the distribution system: to be written by
Martin early next year
3. Document
describing the manual operations of the CAEN system via the front panel or
telnet interface. This will require sitting in front
of the front panel or telnet interface, which means by someone at
CERN. We can discuss early next year how is best to
proceed.
Please do let me
have your comments/feedback on the attached document. I would also like to have
a session on trouble-shooting but for that one I require input from the people
who now have vast practical experience in using the system (Ken, Vince and
Martin).
One final point: in
describing the ESS interlock I assumed it works according to the A1735 manual:
operation enabled when HV EN input is connected to ground. If someone knows
otherwise please do let me know. If not I will double-check with ESS people
that this is indeed how they operate.
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to you all.
Barbara
