Fermilab
Fermilab is a high-energy physics laboratory which houses the Tevatron, themost powerful particle accelerator. Scientists all over the world use theresources of Fermilab in experiments, exploring the most fundamental particlesand forces of nature. Fermilab is situated approximately 30 miles west ofChicago and is operated by Universities Research Association, Inc. undercontract with the U.S. Departement of Energy. Recently the top quark was discovered at Fermilab after the complications of proving that they had found the signature of the top quark, rather than very similar signatures of other quarks.
